Sabrina's Qualifications

Coming from a dance background Sabrina always had a passion for exercise & wellness. She is so happy to bring her systematic approach to The greater Richmond area. Located in Midlothian, VA  she is thrilled to welcome new clients to her state of the art studio.

After being injured she discovered Pilates at Laban Centre in London England. When she returned to the states she started training with Mary Bowen, a Pilates Elder. Through Mary’s recommendation Ms. Vaz got her first certification in Pilates with the Physical Mind Institute in Santa Fe New Mexico. Eventually Sabrina’s journey brought her to Romana Kryzanowska, a student of Joseph Pilates who inherited the Pilates Studio from Joe & Clara.  Sabrina taught under Romana for 800 hours to obtain her certification and taught at the Pilates Studio at 2121 Broadway in the early 90’s.

As a life long student she became a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Reiki Master and Thai Body Work Practitioner. As much as she loves Traditional Pilates and believes it is without question an amazing system to strengthen the core and maintain a supple body she wanted more! This brought her to the Gyrotonic Expansion System®. She became a fully certified Gyrotonic Instructor and Gyrokinesis Instructor in 2006 – 2007 after studying under the systems creator – Julio Horvath – in Austria, Germany, Italy and through-out the US. She is constantly continuing her own education taking classes and workshops around the world.

  • I wanted to give a huge shout out to Sabrina! I’ve been coming to the studio for about a month and really enjoying all the classes I’ve taken. However, last night, I could really feel a difference in the workout I was getting. Sabrina is SUCH a great motivator, she really knows how to make you feel confident during the class (even while she’s giving tips on how to improve form). It’s clear that she knows what she’s doing but also that she wants that passion to be had by everyone in her classes and shares that by bringing energy, upbeat workouts, knowledge and trust to each of her participants. Needless to say, I just finished my run this morning and think I need an ice bath for my legs + arms from the Suspend class last night, haha! Hurts SO good! Thanks!!
